Thailand Junior Chess Championship, organized by Thailand Chess Association finished this weekend in Chiang Mai. Our students Dhi Tawankanjana and Tada Tangsunawan played in U10 age group. Dhi won the third place, scoring 6 points (+5,=2,-2) while Tada wasn't at his usual level and finished 10th, scoring 5 points (+4,=2,-3).
Chess4Thai Tournament for 2016 was organized on March 13th this year. Three of our students participated and achieved good results. Tada Tangsunawan was the winner in U8 group with perfect score of 7 points from 7 rounds.
It was an exciting end of the year full of chess tournaments and battles over the chessboard. Our students actively participated and achieved excellent results.
IWICA students are returning home with lot of trophies from the Thailand Junior Chess Championship that finished today in Bangkok. More than 150 players from all over Thailand participated on the championship which was organized by Thailand's Chess Association. Our school is proud of the success of our students who won 7 trophies in the competition.
FM Riste Menkinoski won the Assumption Association Chess Championship in a very dramatic turn of events in the last round.
Congratulations to our teacher FM Deniel Causo for winning the Thailand Open Rapid Championship in Nakhon Sawan, scoring 6 points from 7 rounds. This is a great success and we wish him many more to come!
Starting from September, we assign IWICA Club Ratings to all participants on our tournaments. This is the current rating list after the September tournament:
