In 2005, the inception of IWICA took place, driven by the lack of child-oriented activities in Bangkok. This served as the catalyst to embark on a journey towards fostering holistic education for children, emphasizing not only cognitive development but also the cultivation of skills and character. The programs I have personally crafted encompass Chess, MatheMagic, Robotics, and Fusion Dance.
The establishment of IWICA Chess School, the first accredited school in Asia by both the Ministry of Education and World Chess Federation, stands as my significant accomplishment. Our school and the Managing Director of IWICA is affiliated and member of various organizations, including the Thailand Chess Association, Bangladesh National Sports Council, All India Chess Federation, Indo Thai Chamber of Commerce, Indian Associations Of Thailand, and several others.
Our IWICA programs are designed to cultivate life skills, mental abilities, social skills, creativity, and character through engaging and enjoyable activities.
IWICA Education Services offers a wide range of programs meticulously developed by our team of experts to enhance children’s mental, social, and skill development. Through partnerships with educational institutions worldwide, we bring unique programs to Thailand that are not otherwise available locally.
Each program is thoughtfully structured to ensure instructors challenge students with innovative techniques and concepts while actively fostering the acquisition of valuable life skills.
These programs are delivered both as in-school and after-school programs across Thailand, India, and Bangladesh, in addition to our own centers.
A researcher on how chess can impact learning and serve as an effective tool for developing life skills, as well as critical and creative thinking, through a holistic approach.
IWICA Chess School’s innovative program was awarded in London in 2017 at the Queen Elizabeth II Convention Centre.
The only delegate from Thailand at the World Chess in Schools Conference held in 2014 in Yerevan, Armenia, where my chess research paper was presented.
“Following my passion for learning, I delved into the field of Vedic mathematics after my experience with chess. This ancient form of mathematics, which dates back over 2500 years, is considered the mother of modern mathematics and inspired the creation of the MatheMagic Program. My journey of research and development continues as I strive to create programs that benefit both children and the community. Education is an endless ocean of knowledge, and the more I explore, the more I realize there is still so much to learn and share.” – Binita Shah
