Our Story
How did we started?
In 2008, the inception of IWICA took place, driven by the lack of child-oriented activities in Bangkok. This served as the catalyst to embark on a journey towards fostering holistic education for children, emphasizing not only cognitive development but also the cultivation of skills and character. The programs I have personally crafted encompass Chess, MatheMagic, Robotics, and Fusion Dance.
The establishment of IWICA Chess School, the first accredited school in Asia by both the Ministry of Education and World Chess Federation, stands as my significant accomplishment. Our school and the Managing Director of IWICA is affiliated and member of various organizations, including the Thailand Chess Association, Bangladesh National Sports Council, All India Chess Federation, Indo Thai Chamber of Commerce, Indian Associations Of Thailand, and several others.
The CORE of IWICA
Our IWICA programs aim to cultivate life skills, mental abilities, social skills, creativity, and character building through a blend of enjoyable activities.
IWICA Education Services offers a wide range of programs that are meticulously developed and designed by our team of experts. These programs are specifically tailored to enhance the mental, social, and skills development of children. Additionally, we have established partnerships with various educational institutions to provide unique programs from around the world that are not currently available in Thailand.
Our program is thoughtfully designed to ensure that instructors consistently challenge students with innovative techniques and concepts. Moreover, our instructors actively demonstrate and encourage the acquisition of valuable life skills through our specially crafted curriculum for each course.
These programs have been implemented as In-School and after-School Programs in Thailand, India, and Bangladesh, in addition to our centers.
Who is Binita Shah?
- Founder and Managing Director of IWICA
- Founder & President of NGO in “Children Association for Development of Skill”. (CADS) working in Temple schools, Orphanage and Slums kids for skills development.
- Advisor to Chairman for World Chess Federation(Fide) Chess in School Commission from 2014-2018
- Certified FIDE Instructor, "FIDE Arbiter and School Lead Chess Lecturer from World Chess Federation.
- A researcher on how chess can impact and can be effective tool for learning life skills, critical and creative thinking with a holistic approach.
- Designing a program of Corporate training, working with mentally challenged kids and try to create difference through chess.
- IWICA Chess School for its innovative program was Awarded in London in 2017 at Queen Elizabeth Convention Center.
- Recieved award in 2020 from Legal Rights Council India for the chess program and development.
- The only delegate from Thailand for the World Chess in School Conference organized in 2014 in Yerevan, Armenia and my publication on chess research was published.
